"Proud to ensure that the federal government is playing its part to help rebuild the San Pablo pedestrian bridge in Seaside and restore a safe connection for students and families. Appreciate the partnership with our state and city partners to get this paid for and completed. https://t.co/KjvG5yykge"

"I'm grateful to the FBI for its investigation, which has so far led to the capture of and federal charges against an individual connected to the suspicious letters mailed to public officials across the country ahead of the midterm elections. The safety and security of my staff remain my priority, and I'm relieved that the powder in the letters tested so far was found to be harmless. But let me be clear, these types of incidents will never deter us from doing our job and serving the people of California’s 19th Congressional District. The work of the FBI and local law enforcement agencies is particularly important as threats, intimidation, and violence against public servants, their families, and our staff continue to rise. We've seen these types of incidents increase nearly 1000% since 2016, including a 58% increase in 2025 alone."
"I am deeply honored and humbled that the people of California’s 19th Congressional District again elected me to represent them in the United States Congress. My work in Congress has always been guided by the principle that good governing is good politics. Tonight’s overwhelming results reaffirm that belief, bolster my work, and strengthen my commitment to delivering for the people that I proudly serve."
"The census is a constitutional mandate, not a tool for partisan manipulation. I stand with my colleagues against the Administration’s proposed rule to exclude people from Congressional apportionment based on immigration status and eliminate critical demographic data. I will keep pushing for an accurate census that protects fair representation, federal resources, and civil rights for communities in CA-19 and across the country."
"Great to see more than 300 talented athletes gather at Capitola Beach to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Women on Waves. Surfing is an iconic part of Santa Cruz’s history and identity, and it’s inspiring to see our community come together to cheer on these women and support the next generation of surfers. https://t.co/tYJYGqoF5m"
"Covered California’s open enrollment is underway, and too many families are struggling with higher health insurance costs after the Majority in Congress let the enhanced ACA premium tax credits expire. I helped pass a bipartisan, three-year extension of these credits in the House and will keep pushing to get it signed into law. We must restore this critical assistance to make coverage more affordable for families in California’s 19th Congressional District."
"Today is the last day to cast your vote! Please review the information below and call the California Secretary of State’s Voter Hotline at (800) 345-VOTE (8683) with any voting questions or concerns. https://t.co/8B4yq6Hj2N"
"The Supreme Court swiftly rejected the Administration’s request to set aside thousands of California ballots one day before the midterm elections, without any dissents noted. Courts at every level now have rejected this unfounded attempt to jeopardize eligible voters’ rights based on a faulty system. We will continue to coordinate with attorneys general to push back against this type of federal overreach to protect California’s safe and secure elections and ensure eligible voters’ can cast their ballots. https://t.co/PsZd8LA2A5"
"Proud to announce nearly $4 million in federal grant funding for the Santa Cruz Fire Department to test potentially lifesaving technology that helps emergency vehicles arrive more quickly and first responders provide timely, effective care. The federal government must play its part to support our local first responders and keep communities in California’s 19th Congressional District safe."
"Reminder: Elections are run by states, and federal officials do not supersede state law. As DOJ election monitors are sent across the country, we will stand against any efforts to intimidate voters, interfere in any way, or prevent state and local election officials from doing their jobs. If you encounter any intimidation from federal law enforcement, stay calm and report issues through local poll workers or by calling the Election Protection Hotline at 1-866-OUR-VOTE."
