STATEMENTELECTIONS

"Today is Election Day! Voting is a critical part of our representative democracy, and I encourage all eligible voters in California's 23rd Congressional District who have not already cast their ballots to participate in this year's election. For information on polling locations and other voting resources, visit the California Secretary of State's website:https://t.co/ifL2yYxx8f"

STATEMENTHEALTHCARE

"A recent California State Auditor report identified significant deficiencies in the state's management of Medi-Cal, including more than 26,000 high-risk providers whose billing practices had not been adequately reviewed. I've led a letter to the California Department of Health Care Services demanding answers about these findings and the steps being taken to investigate potentially improper payments, recover taxpayer dollars, and prevent future fraud. Medi-Cal provides critical care to millions of Californians, and every dollar lost to fraud is a dollar that is not available to help our most vulnerable citizens access the care they need."

STATEMENTGOVERNANCE & INSTITUTIONS

"A constituent recently contacted our office after a damaged community mailbox left him unable to receive his mail at home, requiring him to pick it up at the post office. My office worked with the U.S. Postal Service to get an update on the repair and replacement key process and also helped the constituent learn about an available medical exception that allows eligible residents to receive mail and packages at their door. If you need help with a federal agency, stop by one of our November Mobile Office Hours or contact our district office in Hesperia. We’re here to serve you!"

"I am pleased to see that $233.6 million in new federal funding is coming to California through the Rural Health Transformation Program. Rural healthcare providers face significant challenges in recruiting and retaining medical professionals, maintaining access to specialty care, and coordinating services across healthcare systems. This funding will help address those challenges by strengthening our healthcare workforce, expanding telehealth services, and improving coordination between providers. These investments are critical to improving access to quality healthcare for families in California's 23rd District and across our state. Learn more here: https://t.co/WXSgUdAvqC"

"I was delighted to join local water leaders for the dedication of the Santa Ana Watershed Hydro Authority. This partnership between four local water agencies will oversee seven hydroelectric facilities, helping support reliable, renewable energy generation while protecting our community’s water supply. Thank you to everyone involved in this effort to make better use of our existing infrastructure and strengthen local water and energy resources!"

"Drivers in Washington state currently pay an average of $5.34 per gallon for gas, while Californians are paying $6.08, nearly 75 cents more per gallon. California continues to have the highest gas prices in the nation, with burdensome fuel regulations and taxes adding to the cost of filling up. California families deserve energy policies that prioritize affordability and provide relief at the pump!"

STATEMENTGOVERNMENT TRANSPARENCY

"The Administration recently announced a new $25 million whistleblower incentive program to help identify and combat fraud involving federal taxpayer dollars. The program, administered by the Department of Justice, will offer rewards of up to $30,000 for qualifying tips that lead to criminal charges. Fraud in federal programs wastes taxpayer dollars and diverts resources from the families that depend on them. Strong oversight and accountability are essential to ensuring these programs serve their intended purpose and that those who abuse them are held accountable. https://t.co/AemMaXBi4P"

STATEMENTJUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

"October is National Crime Prevention Month, an opportunity to highlight the importance of keeping our neighborhoods safe and supporting local law enforcement. Crime impacts families, small businesses, and residents across our community. That's why I cosponsored the Combating Organized Retail Crime Act, which passed the House earlier this year and will give law enforcement additional tools to combat organized retail theft. We must continue fighting to protect residents, support local businesses, and hold criminals accountable. https://t.co/hgDTMKlR9n"
