"While last night wasn't the outcome we had hoped for, I am so grateful to everyone who stood with me throughout this campaign. It has been an incredible honor to once again answer the call to serve my country and the people of Eastern North Carolina. I was raised to understand the meaning of service and sacrifice, and those values have guided me my entire life. My love for this country has never been about an election or a title, and that will never change. While I may not be heading to Congress, my commitment to serving this nation and the communities we call home remains as strong as ever. To my family, our incredible volunteers, and everyone who placed their faith in me, thank you from the bottom of my heart. It has truly been an honor. God bless you all, God bless Eastern North Carolina, and God bless the United States of America. 🇺🇸"
